Rainbow River Lodge is a tranquil stop over en-route to the Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta. Kavango- Zambezi Region falls within the tropic climate zone and receive the highest rainfall in Namibia.
The area is rich in bird life of which as many as 339 bird species has been recorded.
Surrounded by the Buffalo and Mahango Parks, where four of the big five can be found (African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, African Leopard). The Okavango River is home to Hippos and Crocodiles. Popa Falls is less than 1 kilometer from Rainbow River Lodge, this is where the Kavango River breaks through a four-meter-high rocky intrusion, surrounded by beautiful forests

22 en-suite chalets that consist of double, single and family units. All chalets are equipped with linen; towels; mosquito nets, fan and en-suite shower & toilet. Seven deluxe chalets are situated on the lower river bank, overlooking the Okavango River.
The 11 river facing camping spots are covered under lawn and a canopy of large trees.
Each campsite has its own braai area, fitted with electrical outlet and water point.
The 4 ablution blocks have hot water; electricity and a communal kitchen.

  • Half day visits to a nearby Mbukushu village afford guests an in depth culture experience and opportunity to buy some hand crafted curios
  • Birding is exceptionally good with around 84 bird species around the lodge and 339 recorded in the Kavango region
  • Game drives to the Mahango and Buffalo Parks can be arranged or be done on a self-drive basis with the possibility of spotting four of the Big Five (African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, African Leopard)

Lodge GPS Co-Ordinates:
From Rundu, drive 205 kilometers east to Divundu. Turn right at the signboard indicating Rainbow River Lodge which is before the bridge crossing over the Okavango River.
Continue with the C48 road along the river for approximately 7 kilometers. Turn left at the signboard indicating the lodges entrance road. Drive 1 kilometer past the village to the reception and parking area.
